In March 2023, the International Union of Railways (UIC) issued the unified new supply specification for steel fishplates, IRS 80864-4:2023. Consolidating three original separate UIC leaflets (864-4, 864-8, 864-9) into one complete document. Our steel fishplates comply with the latest IRS 80864-4:2023 standard, which replaces the outdated UIC 864-4 / 864-8 leaflets and meets all international railway tender requirements. 

1. Unified documents: The latest IRS 80864-4 integrates three legacy specifications into a single document that covers all standard fishplate types. It simplifies paperwork and reduces disagreements during goods inspection and acceptance; 2. Comprehensive mechanical property requirements: The updated standard introduces two additional mandatory testing criteria, forming a complete inspection system for incoming goods. It effectively blocks inferior fishplates and reduces extra replacement expenses arising from track deformation and cracking.

3. Stricter dimensional tolerances: The latest standard tightens tolerance limits for length, thickness, hole pitch and flatness, ensuring superior product uniformity, which helps eliminate on-site rework and lower long-term maintenance costs. 4. Mandatory traceability markings: Per the updated standard, each fishplate shall be permanently marked with the manufacturer code, heat batch number and production year. Consistent matching between physical products and documentation streamlines project acceptance and enables standardized traceability for quality accountability. 

5. Compliant with current international tender standards: IRS 80864-4 has become the widely recognized standard for tendering new overseas railway constructions, with traditional UIC leaflets gradually phased out.
