The spike is hammered directly into the timber sleeper, and the hooked head then clamps the edge of the rail base. Rail Dog Spike Technical Requirements
1. Raw Material:
Our rail dog spikes are manufactured from Q235A carbon structural steel (or higher‑grade equivalent) and hot‑rolled square steel.
2. Surface Appearance:
The shank surface of rail dog spike shall be smooth, with forging flash not exceeding 2 mm; The cutting edge of the point shall be straight; The point shall be free from burrs and folds that could affect service; The surface shall be free from blisters and cracks.
3. Mechanical Properties:
The minimum actual pull-out force of the rail dog spike shall not be less than 100 kN.
4. Cold‑Bending Characteristics:
After anti-rust treatment, the rail dog spike shall show no cracks after the 90° cold-bend test.
5. Corrosion Resistance:
The surface of the rail dog spike shall be provided with anti‑corrosion protection.
